Citrus Recordings was launched in 2005 with the full length CD, Citrus Sessions vol.1 feat. Myka Nyne. After critical acclaim and some successful touring in the North-West, Mike Meeker, label founder and president, put together the Citrus Sessions Band, featuring an all star line up of musicians. The second release from Citrus Recordings is a limited edition vinyl EP with selections from the Citrus Sessions. Citrus Recordings is the label home to soundtracks for Meeker’s feature film projects.
Kid Whiskey, was formed in late 2008 by Ryan Crosby and Neal Richter. Meeker joined on bass and soon after Robbie Pugliese was added on guitar. The band spent the majority of 2009 playing around Los Angeles and recording their debut album “My Only Friend” which is due out on Citrus Recordings in the Spring of 2010.
Citrus Sessions Vol.1 is a full-length release featuring Myka Nyne of the iconic LA based hip hop crew Freestyle Fellowship. The album is a juicy collection of “Grown Folk” hip hop from one of LA’s pre-eminent emcee’s. It also features production from Jeff Bhasker (Kanye West, Jay Z, Kid Cudi, the Game) Joseph Leimberg (Snoop Dogg, G Unit, Erika Badu, Murs) Headnodic (Crown City Rockers, Mighty Underdogs, Megaphone) with guest appearances from Abstract Rude, P.E.A.C.E., Javis of the Luminaries, and Tracy Lane.
